Lady GaGa Before "The Fame" Did Drugs, Burlesque Shows
Before finding success with her Grammy-winning album, "The Fame," Lady GaGa's dabbled in drug experimentation and burlesque shows. That's according to a Sunday article posted on NYDailyNews.com, which also reports that GaGa didn't make a great first impression on New Jersey producer, Rob Fusari, who christened her "Lady GaGa." Of her audition for him, Fusari says, quote, "She was bubbly and nice, but not what I was looking for at all." But after GaGa sang for him at his piano, the producer changed his tune saying, quote, "It was like the Earth stopped...As she's playing, I'm texting my lawyer, 'I need a contract tomorrow.'" Fusari guided GaGa's career forward after that, but she took a quick detour into the world of burlesque shows and hit the New York nightlife scene with DJ Lady Starlight. GaGa also got into drugs, a move that prompted intervention from her father who told her she was ruining her life. While her mother, Cynthia, shared her father's concern, it was father Joe who refused to speak to her for months. GaGa got the hint and cleaned up her act.
