Timothy B. Schmit Tours Solo, With Eagles
Bass player Timothy B. Schmit is getting ready to tour -- both for his solo work and with the Eagles. "Classic Rock" reports that Schmit -- the bass player who joined the "Hotel California" band in 1977 -- will venture "across the pond" for three solo dates in England in March. Following Schmit's brief UK trek, he's back in the U.S., playing first at the Hollywood Bowl with the Eagles. From Los Angeles, the band's on to Phoenix. The Eagles continue their North American dates through May.
Schmit has continued to work with the Eagles on reunion material and live dates. Last fall, the 63-year-old released a solo project -- "Expando" -- which features guest appearances by Dwight Yoakam, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Graham Nash and his own son, Ben Schmit.
